The City of Melbourne’s Future Melbourne project has now been busily consulting with the Melbourne community for more than nine months now to determine what future they would like to see. eVillage Melbourne members have been exceptionally generous in sharing their ideas, time and enthusiasm in the development of a plan for the future of Melbourne. We thank you for your commitment and wonderful contributions to the Future Melbourne project.

Through your comments, and those of the rest of the Melbourne community, we are now developing, evaluating and refining the actual strategies that will help us realise our collective vision for Melbourne in 2020 and beyond.

Considering the options – it’s not too late

eVillage members have once again stepped up during the Future Melbourne ‘options’ phase, with more than 100 member posts across the 40 options up for consideration. But it’s not too late to have your say – log onto the eVillage before March to make sure your comments count.

The final stage is almost here

In March, the Future Melbourne project will move into its next phase, ‘Negotiating the Results’. In this phase, the City of Melbourne will develop a draft Future Melbourne plan using all of the contributions received so far.

All eVillage members will be welcome to comment on the draft plan, to be developed online in a ‘TWiki’ format (similar to Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia).

This is a new and exciting approach for the City of Melbourne – and we’ll be thrilled if you can join us for the final phase of the development of the Future Melbourne plan. We’ll let you know when and how to get involved.
