“This paper is for people who, in either a professional or personal capacity, have an interest in reducing the volume of single-occupant vehicles on metropolitan streets. Fewer vehicles on our streets will relieve congestion and provide environmental, economic and social benefits.
The Victorian Government promotes car pooling through its TravelSmart program. However as this paper explores, the effectiveness of TravelSmart’s car pooling arrange- ments appears to be very limited as it is focussed on a small number of workplaces in Melbourne.”
