Southern Colour with Philip Lawrence has launched “think – act”; a book that gives honest and factual information about the Printing Industry and its true effects on the environment. It highlights the huge inroads made and makes comparisons to other industries. Additionally, it explains the many industry associated terms, accreditations and creative vocabulary used.
Providing solid foundation in support of “think – act” is Southern Colour’s existing and more recent business initiatives including a list of environmental accreditations and technological advancements. Despite having gained FSC, PEFC and ISO 14001 and supporting OH&S and QA accreditations, Southern Colour developed its own set of environmental practices to supplement these guidelines called ‘Ecolour’. Part internal philosophy and part protocol, it is a mechanism used to identify and monitor in greater depth areas such as energy consumption, emission reduction and technology efficiencies found in the printing industry.
