Improving Waste Management in the CBD
Posted in Events by Virginia on March 8th, 2009
The City of Melbourne is proposing new regulations to improve the cleanliness of the city and is seeking your feedback on the proposed changes as outlined in the fact sheet attached. The new regulations would introduce ‘waste service standards that businesses and waste companies in the CBD would need to follow.Waste disposal is very important aspect to how efficiently many businesses operate in the City of Melbourne. We tend to not think about it until something doesn’t happen.
The Council advises that it has concerns with the storage and collection of waste and is developing new ‘Waste Service Standards’ to address these in the CBD. Proposed standards would apply to waste companies and businesses operating within the CBD. The standards would be introduced as a change to the Councils existing Environment Local Law and would be legally binding within the CBD.
