The Research Institute for Asia and the Pacific at the University of Sydney is currently inviting early to mid-career professionals to apply for the 2009 Australia-Korea Next Generation Leaders Program (NGLP). The leadership exchange program has been initiated by the Australia-Korea Foundation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and managed by our Institute since 2007. It aims to develop the leadership skills of potential and current leaders from Australia and Korea in specifically identified subject areas or themes.
This year the theme is on ‘Green Growth’ and from 27th June – 6th July Australian delegates will once again travel to Korea to participate in a number of leadership briefings, networking events and specialist meetings with their green technology and sustainability counterparts. NGLP will further provide successful applicants with an opportunity to develop an understanding of contemporary Korean culture and society. The cost of the program including airfares and accommodation will be met by the respective host country organizations.
Eligible applicants must be Australian citizens and need to have an association with an Australian-based public or private organization. Furthermore, applicants must demonstrate leadership potential in the following fields: renewable energy, sustainability, clean coal, energy efficiency, solar power, wind power, geothermal power, and biofuels. Applicants from other industries relevant to the program will also be considered.
Applications close on Friday 8th May.
