9 September , 2012

Melbourne’s greenest homes will open their doors to the public as part of the 11th annual Sustainable House Day on Sunday September 9, from 10am-4pm.

The day will showcase the city’s most environmentally sustainable and innovative homes that invest in renewable energy, recycling and other practices designed to reduce their carbon footprint.

Highlights include an award-winning renovation and extension of a Victorian terrace in North Fitzroy, a home in Hampton that blends elegant heritage values with sustainability, and a 9.1-star rated Preston house that lifts the bar high on green features.

Everyone is welcome to see what sustainable homeowners have done and how these ideas can be applied. Entry is free.
