Volunteers wanted for the Sustainable Living Festival!

Posted in Seeking by Ferne Edwards on January 30th, 2009

1. Sign Up
The 2009 Sustainable Living Festival is now only just under three weeks away. There is still plenty more room for on-site volunteers and we would love to have people who have previously been involved with SLF to come on board again! If you have yet to sign up to volunteer during the Festival weekend, you can do so here: www.slf.org.au/festival/volunteer_form. At this site you can nominate your preferences in terms of which areas you would like to be involved with and which days you are available to volunteer. Come along and enjoy the incredible experience that is volunteering for the Sustainable Living Festival – we hope to see you there!

3. Urgent – We need your help!
The Sustainable Living Festival is searching for volunteers/workers to fill the following roles… urgently!

· Highlights Guides Distributors
We are looking for volunteers to assist in the distribution of our Highlights Guides to local councils, libraries, community centres and other appropriate public spaces. We have decided to split the roles into four areas within the metropolitan Melbourne region (i.e. north, south, east and west of Melbourne CBD). If you are able to assist in the distribution of these guides to one or more of these areas on the following dates please let us know ASAP! Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th, Sunday 25th and/or Tuesday 27th of January. Venues (and their addresses) to be approached will be provided and travel & food expenses will be covered (we have determined that transportation by motor vehicle would be the most appropriate option). If you’re up for some fresh air and a free lunch, or for more details, please contact us at info@ slf.org.au. And to further show our appreciation to these volunteers, we would like to thank all those who help out with a free tiffins lunch that we hold each Wednesday from 1-2pm at the SLF Office.

Festival Drivers
In the fortnight leading up to the Festival we require assistance in transporting lots and lots of equipment across different areas in and around the CBD. Transporting will be during normal business hours plus the Festival weekend. Travel & food expenses will be covered. This position will be on a part-time basis for the two weeks leading up to the festival (approximately three days per week). Drivers will need to be able to drive the SLF Production van which has a manual transmission. This position will be financially compensated. If you feel like helping out, or for more details, please contact us at info@ slf.org.au.
