Victorian Climate Change Green Paper: Comments Sought
Posted in Seeking by Kate Archdeacon on September 9th, 2009
The Office of the Premier (Victoria) have just launched a new online discussion forum, including video messages from experts such as Professor Ross Garnaut and Professor David Karoly, to give people the opportunity to debate the key policy challenges facing Victoria as it frames its first Climate Change “Green Paper”.
Victoria is in a very interesting position. We are a sub-national jurisdiction with some limits on our regulatory power, we are facing the prospect of the introduction of a national emissions trading scheme and looking for ways to compliment and adjust to it, we have an enormous reliance on brown coal for energy and we have a rapidly growing population. All of these things and more create a complex policy environment and your ideas and feedback on how Victoria can make the ‘green leap’ would be greatly appreciated.
So please visit the website, watch the videos, and leave your comments.
