Research – ACF press release about environment and health costs
Posted in Research by Ferne Edwards on October 2nd, 2007
The important link between environment and physical health is illustrated by the Australian Conservation Foundation‘s press release published today, “Call for strong renewable energy target to help avert the serious health risks of climate change“. There’s even a term for this: “medical ecology“, which is defined as “an emerging science that defines those aspects of the environment that have a direct bearing on human health” (see http://www.medicalecology.org/).
The ACF press release quotes the Australian Medical Association Public Health Committee Spokesperson, Dr Alex Markwell, “The future health of Australians depends to a large degree on having a healthy environmentâ€.
