Event – Sustainable Community Living Models, 9 June
In line with the post, “McMansions or Ecovillages” posted on SustainableMelbourne, 4/5/2007, and also the related topic of “housing obesity” published recently in newspapers such as The Age, this Community Forum, “Living Together, Doing It Better: Community Living Options for the 21st Century” discusses the variety of sustainable living options available to us, which includes models of eco-villages, cohousing, eco-development, housing co-operatives, intentional communities, communes, CERC, affordable housing trusts and associations and the like.
Topics for the day will explore the benefits of living in a community with key speakers from existing communities talking about their experiences.
The forum will be held on Saturday 9 June, 10am-5pm at the Augustine Centre, 2 Minona Street, Hawthorn. Price of $25 waged, $12 unwaged includes lunch. For more information, visit http://www.slf.org.au/communities/.
