Freecycle is a website for giving and getting. Objects for exchange include household items, books, clothes, plants, tools and other treasures. The Freecycle Network is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It’s a grassroots and entirely non-profit movement of people who swap stuff for free in their own towns. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer and there are well-developed guidelines to keep things safe and legal. Everything posted must be free, legal and appropriate for all ages! Membership is free.
There are over 4000 Freecycle groups worldwide - including many around Victoria based on local government areas. The Melbourne group has over 11,000 members.
