With spring now upon us, it’s a great time to learn how to make the most of our garden spaces. For anyone into earthy fun who would like to know how to lock up some carbon and make your house or apartment more like a lush green home – help is at hand. Port Phillip EcoCentre is hosting a series of Sunday Garden Workshops in September/October.
The presenter is local resident Elspeth Ferguson who is a qualified horticulturist and trainer. She has a lush balcony on her 10th floor apartment in St Kilda Road as well as a plot at Dig In Community Garden in Port Melbourne. She has conducted gardening seminars for locals through various community organisations. Elspeth is highly passionate about the environment, sustainable gardening and veggie gardening, said “A garden is a like a good friend! I just love all things green and leafy, and all things local, social, and healthy.”
The sessions are to be run from the EcoCentre in St Kilda Botanical Gardens on the corner Blessington and Herbert Streets. The two hour sessions will be run for 4 weeks each Sunday from 11 September from 11 to 1pm with a lunch to follow – which is included in the cost.
