Stephen Mushin, Ecological systems designer at CERES and a Freelance Ecological Systems Designer, spoke about “The CERES Aquaponics research project and The Myhree Primary school kitchen classroom space snake” at the recent Sustainable Cities Round Table / Future Melbourne Forum, 31 October. We were also very fortunate to have Dr Catherin Bull, Elisabeth Murdoch Professor of Landscape Architecture, University of Melbourne, to speak on “Cities as functioning ecosystems - focusing on retrofits” at the recent Sustainable Cities Round Table / Future Melbourne Forum, 31 October. Jon Ward, Sustainability Victoria, was the first presenter to speak as part of the three minute presentations at the recent Sustainable Cities Round Table / Future Melbourne Forum on the 31 October. His presentation titled, “Sustainability - The Big Picture” discussed the business visioning process that occurred at Sustainability Victoria - as illustrated by a beautiful, big, colourful map towards their future! The Sustainable Cities Round Table / Future Melbourne Forum was recently held on the 31 October. The event, proudly supported by the City of Melbourne as one of the Future Melbourne Forums brought together a wealth of urban sustainability knowledge by local presenters; Melanie Dodd, Graham Crist, Eva Migdal, Prof Catherin Bull, Steve Mushin, Jon Ward, Catherine Stutterheim and Rob Adams. We were also graced by the presence of international speaker, Francois Jegou, Director of the Brussels-based design research company, Solutioning. The overall theme - “Visioning Sustainable Cities” - provided a rich context for peoples’ visions in a variety of fields and backgrounds.
